도수치료 STORY
도수치료의 기원
시술자의 손을 사용하여 치료목적으로 일정한 속도, 크기, 방향, 각도를 가진 힘을 환자의 신체에
가함으로써 치료하는 술기로 2,500년 이상의 오랜역사 동안 전 세계적으로 연구되고 발전되어 왔습니다.
고대에 제대로 문헌에 기록된 도수치료는 그리스의 Hippo-crates 도수치료라고 알려져 있습니다.
Hippocrates는 기원전 5세기경 지렛대의 원리를 이용하여 관절 및 척추를 교정하려고 시도하였으며
20세기초에 이탈리아에서 실제로 발굴된 Hippocratic Table이라는 도구를 고안하여 도수치료를
시행하였다고 합니다.
교정도수치료
교정도수치료는 척추, 관절, 근육 등이 틀어지거나 변형된 부분을 정상 위치로 교정해주는 치료방법으로
뼈와 근육을 바로잡아 복원하여 만성통증을 완화하고, 척추 및 주변조직의 기능을 개선함으로써 디스크와 같은
관절 질환에 대해 효과적인 결과를 제공하는 치료기법으로 다양한 테크닉을 통해 교정 도수치료가 가능합니다.
1895년 D.D Palmer에 의하여 미국에서 카이로프랙틱이 창시되었으며 1955년 J Clay Thompson에 의해
Drop(낙차)을 통한 척추교정 기법을 개발하였으며, 1960년대 Cox Technique을 이용한 굴곡신전기법과
1980년대 모터를 장착하여 자동으로 굴곡신전기법을 적용하여 전문적인 척추교정치료를 시작하였습니다.
